InMobi Snags Largest Investment Ever

Mobile advertising company InMobi has received a $200 million investment from the Japanese Internet company Softbank in one of the largest investments ever in the mobile Internet market. InMobi, which launched in 2007 in Bangalore, India now reaches over 340 million consumers in more than 165 countries, including the US. We have learned that Google is planning to re-brand (change the name) of its popular Picasa photo management service to Google Photos, and its Blogger blog platform to Google Blogs. This is not a big surprise, as Google is not the best at coming up with cool names for it's services anyway. Google acquired Picasa in 2004 for an undisclosed sum. Looks like the "Good Old Days" are coming to an end for Netflix users who now must chose a plan, as the company’s deadline for changing its rates hits on Sept. 1. Back in July a user backlash erupted when the company announced that it would separate DVD and Streaming plans, and start charging $7.99 for each.
