Part 4: Affirmative Action is no “Action Jackson” at MnDOT

Last week at MnDOT and internal email was sent to select employees at MnDOT regarding the recent stories posted on IBNN.
The email read: (Unedited):

FYI for internal use only – this will be discussed at the DBE and Workforce Development Collaborative Group meeting on Friday. Specifically, hopefully, 1) Lennie Chism bringing Donny Allen a newsperson who seemed only there looking for a story and he did not state that this is why he was there; and 2) it was agreed to “no surprises” at the last meeting and this has been the fourth surprise from Mr. Chism; ground roles for media and the hard work going forth with all the project teams.
Note: The email above is just another example of bigotry at MnDOT for the acting civil rights director to single out two Black men, asking questions about a 17 year trend of failure in an attempt to address, solve and recommend a plan of action. This top-of-mind attention is not wanted at MnDOT, hence, 1% in federally funded contracts to minority contractors.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation employee base is a “protected class” of the government workforce. They have the “Cadillac” of benefits that aren’t affected by the current economic status of non-government working-class Minnesotans. Read more
Death Threats to IBNN
The funny thing is, all I have is a Blog that I do for a hobby. I charge no money for ads, nor do I take dollars to publish stories.
One thing I have done is report on “process” that has never had any press coverage in the Black community.
The following email was received today from a Terrell Brown, (bigbrown0939@yahoo.com).
It reads: (unedited)
You have been warned before about bashing the black community in which you do not live. You sir are scum of the earth, we get your blogs and personally you are full of horse shit. Your days of speaking untruth are numbered sir.
As i speak right now, there’s a group that met last night on your actions the past several months, they are going to put a silence hold on you. We have sat and talked with someone you did drugs with (1985) that knows you very well. We know who you are working for and with, this meeting last nite on you Donald Allen was very informative and will damage you badly in the public’s eye.

First of all, this guy does not know me very well and I could give a rats-ass about someone telling him about my alleged drug use. I don’t run social service agency. Secondly, if this is who I think it is, he should be thrown under the jail. As far as me and the “public eye” I’m pleased to announce that in some cases, we do see eye-to-eye.
Does this guy work for a non-profit – what kind of community organizing is this? Could this be a Democrat operative?
A $1000 (one-thousand dollar) reward is being offered for information about Mr. Terrell that leads to an arrest.
